Senior Software Tester
We are looking for an experienced Software Tester to support the development and verification of advanced avionics systems within the aerospace and defence domain. This assignment plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of software used in safety-critical environments.
In this role, you will work with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test environments and collaborate closely with engineering teams to validate avionics software under realistic operating conditions. The role may focus on either high-level or low-level testing, depending on project needs.
Due to the nature of the work and the use of physical test equipment, the assignment requires on-site presence.
Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain test plans, test cases and automated test scripts for avionics software
• Execute software tests and document test results and findings
• Perform verification activities using hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test rigs
• Identify, analyze and report software defects and anomalies
• Collaborate with software, systems and integration engineers to resolve issues
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety requirements
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and software quality
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Software Tester within avionics, automotive, or embedded systems
• Experience working with HIL test environments (e.g., dSpace or similar platforms)
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and verification processes
• Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages
• Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional engineering teams
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability and attention to detail
• Fluency in English
Meritorious Experience
• Experience with both high-level and low-level software testing
• Familiarity with DO-178C or similar avionics software standards
• Knowledge of safety-critical software development processes
• Experience working in agile development environments
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills
• Certifications related to software testing or avionics
Additional Information
This role involves working with physical avionics test equipment, therefore on-site work is required.
Some assignments may require security clearance or specific citizenship, depending on client requirements.
